How to use YouTube Live to convert prospects into clients

Until YouTube live was available , every video would be made and then uploaded to YouTube, when it would become available almost immediately.

That has worked very well but then YouTube started to test streaming videos in real time. Initially it was tested with events like a U2 concert, a Barrack Obama speech and the Indian Cricket League.

Let’s consider the benefits of YouTube Live :

1 You can share live events with your audience.

For example, if you have a new product release you can let your audience be part of the experience by letting them comment.

This can be very useful as it is effectively market testing your product.

The feedback you get from such sessions can be invaluable in your product launch.

2 Credibility

You can share with your audience the product launch sequence going from concept through various phases until the product is completed.

3 Improved rankings in YouTube

It is true that you can dramatically improve your chances of being on Page 1 of YouTube with live streaming.

I have personal experience and can report that I have been on Page 1 of YouTube inside of 1 day.

It is fair to state that this was not achieved purely by using live streaming. In addition to streaming, I did my research on the tags I needed to use and also wrote a description of over 400 words.

In the accompanying video, we show how to stream your video live.

Although it is not particularly difficult, there are a number of products being released which will make life much easier for you.

There are now solutions available which will let you schedule your video for streaming in the future. Not only that but you will also be able to stream variations of your video.

The end result is that you could have 10 or more videos streamed to YouTube.

This is a very powerful tool which could see you with a number of videos on page 1 of YouTube.

How to optimize your YouTube video to generate traffic

Once you have made your video, the next step is to make sure that you can generate traffic. This means being found in YouTube searches.

We need to optimize our video by using Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

In this article, and associated video, we will outline 5 strategies we can adopt to drive targeted traffic to our video.

Although there are billions of web sites and videos by adopting the right strategies we can be found high in the YouTube searches.

Here are the 5 strategies we recommend :

1 Compose an outstanding video title

This is the first thing viewers will see so we need to make it appealing so that viewers click on our video.

It is best to keep the title to less than 10 words and 100 characters.

People do not read more than 9 words in the search, so it is important to keep it short.

Actions and numbers work well, e.g.

“How to Gain Massive Leads in Three Days”

You should also include a benefit and use words like new, secret, best, etc.

“Discover the new way to lose weight in 14 days”

As well as a benefit it is advisable that the video solves a problem, e.g. losing weight, earning money to pay off debts, etc.

Insert keywords. Words like best and secret are found to be used a lot in searches, and have been proven to generate more clicks.

2 Compelling Descriptions

This is frequently overlooked by many people.

It is important because these words are the ones found by search engines.

The first 3 lines are important as these are the ones seen by viewers on YouTube.

Repeat your keyword phrase in the first line.

On your second line include your link to the service or product you are promoting. If your link is www.mysite.com/howtoloseweight you should include the full http, http://mysite.com/howtoloseweight

The reason is that the link is clickable when you include http.

You want to make it easy for people who will be happy to click a link but will be unlikely to copy and paste if you only include www

3 Tags

These are very important and are equivalent to keywords in searches such as google.

You are allowed up to 500 characters, so use as many as possible.

4 Video Thumbnail

You should include text within your thumbnail.

I have made another video showing how you can design your own thumbnail using www.canva.com

5 Call To Action

At the end of the video have a call to action.

This may be to click on your link or subscribe to your channel.

How to start a YouTube Channel for your business

By now, we should all know the benefits of having a presence on YouTube.

These include:

1 People prefer to watch a video these days, rather than read a lot of text.

When people want to learn about a new product or service, as many as 98% said they preferred to watch a video.

2 Video can increase your sales

It is estimated that adding a product video to your landing page can increase your conversions by 80%.

3 Videos are more appealing to mobile users

We have all seen the growth of mobile usage over the last few years and it is forecast that this growth will continue.

More than half of video viewing is now done on mobile phones.

It is also forecast that watching videos on mobiles will overtake traditional TV viewing.

Quite simply, people find it easy to watch a video while on the go, than scrolling through trying to read lots of text.

4 YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, so it is well worth having a presence.

YouTube Channel-what is it ?

Now that we have covered the benefits, let’s discuss what a YouTube channel is.

You may have lots of interests with videos on subjects such as golf, photography, dog breeding, etc.

If a golfer is looking on your YouTube account, he/she may not wish to look through your videos on photography and dog breeding.

To overcome this, we would have separate channels for each of our interests.

If you are looking for viewers, it is estimated that YouTube visitors are watching around 6 billion hours of video every month.

You only need a small part of that to have a viable business.

In order to customize your YouTube channel, you need the following :

1 Channel icon- this should either be a photo of yourself or your brand.

2 Channel art-personally, I use a site called www.canva.com, which is free and enables you to design your own channel art.

I have made a separate video to show how this is done.

There is a link below.

3 Channel description-this tells your viewers all about your channel.

Conclusion

That is basically how you set up your YouTube channel.

In addition, I will be adding further videos on YouTube marketing.
